2024 has been a huge year of exposure for Cricket in America. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup threw the US team onto the global stage with multiple wins against some of cricket’s biggest international names. Most notably, the US team beat Pakistan during the group stages which catapulted the United States into the Super Eights for the first time. They didn’t progress any further, yet the excitement for the sport and the passion from the players has certainly ensured USA Cricket is a name to be noted on the international cricket radar.

What We Learnt About the USA Cricket 2024

The States not only co-hosted the biennial cricket tournament this year, but they also shone brighter than any other US cricket team before on the international stage. The win over Pakistan was by far one of the biggest upsets of the tournament. Fans at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas were treated to a thrilling match where a rare Super Over closed out the game with a win for the Americans. Many players and commentators have dubbed this 2024 US cricket win as the key to opening the door to cricket’s growth in America.

In the team, we saw many American cricket players stamping their importance onto the global game of cricket. The captain, Monank Patel was highly influential throughout the tournament not only due to his captaincy but also his batting game. Nitish Kumar’s boundary hit towards the end of the game with Pakistan ensured a Super Over which led to that awe-inspiring victory. The main takeaway from this is the emergence of known names in American cricket who can start to be the role models for a new generation of US cricketers.

All of the above is actively producing new household names and establishing a new notoriety for cricket in the United States. Liam Plunkett Cricket in 2024 (So Far!)

2024 so far has been a great year for Liam Plunkett Cricket. This year has seen GameDay Athletics open as the first official LP Cricket Partner Facility. The first launch event was held in the West Chester, Pennsylvania Cricket centre where Liam led the event with a meet & greet and mini-games for attendees. The event was a great success and now paves the way for all of the specialised cricket training options that are available from the centre. The USA cricket education program has also gone online with a brand new range of video and interactive courses designed to guide new and aspiring players into the world of cricket. The courses are self-paced and accessible from anywhere. Our software makes it easy to pause and return to the training whenever you please.
